The 16th Annual AmCham Golf Tournament

The last Friday in February saw Porter Novelli team members Andrew and Bill venture out of the office to take part in the American Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Day for 2011.

Although dubbed the gentlemen’s game, we were not deterred as golf happens to combine two of our favourite pastimes - taking long walks and hitting things with a stick.

Porter Novelli supported us boots and all by taking sponsorship of the 18th hole (the 19th would have proven far too costly) and giving us polo shirts and golf balls featuring the newly refreshed Porter Novelli brand.

The day itself offered perfect golfing conditions, sunny with a slight overcast and minimal wind. Add in some good conversation and the convenient drinks cart that circled the course and you have a winning combination for a fantastic Friday afternoon.

The organisation and running of the day was flawless which is a credit to the time and effort put in by all at the American Chamber of Commerce.

Thanks must also go to our Clemenger Group graduate Nick who manned the 18th hole providing players with advice on their drive off the tee and hazards on the hole. Nick also collected business cards for a case of wine kindly donated by Porter Novelli client Yealands Estate.

Gary Hampson, CFO at BMW was drawn as the winner so congratulations to Gary and thanks to all others who entered as well.  We hope you had as much fun as we did and we look forward to seeing you again next year.
