Butter hit the headlines on Tuesday the 3rd of August at the first-ever Great Mainland Butter Debate and Porter Novelli was right behind it. To find out more check out the coverage on Campbell Live.
Brought together by Mainland Butter, hilarious Kiwi personalities debated the moot "a world with butter is better", with TV personality Petra Bagust as Master of Ceremonies, and Masterchef judge and award-winning chef Simon Gault as host.
Heading up the "for" team wascomedian and TV personality, Te Radar, ably supported by advertising guru and author, Mike Hutcheson and The Press columnist Joe Bennett and leading the "against" team were comedians Raybon Kan with Ginette McDonald and Leigh Hart.
A who's who of the food world were there to watch the two teams battle it out including cook and writer Allyson Gofton, founding editor of New Zealand Women's Weekly Tui Flower, owner of Soul Bar and Restaurant Judith Tabron, Hottest Home Baker contestants, NZ Herald's Nici Wickes, food writer Lauraine Jacobs and NEXT Magazine's Kylie Bayley among many, many others.
Designed to kick-start a national discussion around butter which coincides with the recent launch of the Colenso BBDO Mainland Butter advertisements featuring the strapline "A Simple Pleasure", the debate was won by the affirmative team, who resorted to crying to win.
