Porter Novelli named a Top Ten Finalist in the 2011 JRA Best Workplaces Awards

Many of you will already know that, as well as being passionate about providing top quality communications advice, we are dedicated to looking after our employees. Consequently, we are always striving to create a vibrant, supportive team culture where employees are involved at all levels of the business. We also make time to have fun. We work very hard, but always remember that it’s important to have a few belly laughs as well.

Last year, our commitment to a happy, healthy and productive office environment was recognised when we were named a Top Ten Finalist in the 2010 JRA Best Workplaces Awards (Small Workplace Category).

Today we learned that we are no one hit wonders! Porter Novelli New Zealand is the only public relations consultancy to be named a Top Ten Finalist in the 2011 JRA Best Workplaces Awards (Small Workplace Category). The winners will be announced at a special awards evening on Thursday, 17th November and we will have our fingers firmly crossed.

Every year, JRA, which is New Zealand’s leading provider of employee climate/culture and related surveys, obtains feedback from employees around the country, and scores participating companies on a number of performance criteria, the aim being to find the nation’s best place to work. This year, a record 31,700 Kiwis responded to the JRA Best Workplaces Survey from 237 different organisations across the country.

It’s fantastic to know that our efforts over the past year have been recognised. It’s also great to see a number of our clients among the 34 other finalists, spread across four different categories. Congratulations to all of you that have entered and made it through to the shortlist. We hope to see you at the awards dinner next month.

Whatever the final result, we are proud of our team and excited about what the next year might bring. As the old Maori proverb goes: “What is the most important thing in the world? It is people! It is people! It is people! We couldn’t agree more.
