Porter Novelli congratulates Sarah Newcombe on Vodafone appointment
Porter Novelli congratulates senior account director Sarah Newcombe on her appointment as Vodafone’s new head of corporate communications, replacing Paul Brislen who left the role last year to take up the role of chief executive at telecommunications users’ lobby group TUANZ.
“While we are sad to see Sarah leave the agency we are delighted we’ll continue to work closely with her as our key client contact at Vodafone,” says Porter Novelli managing director Jane Sweeney.
“Sarah has made a massive contribution to Porter Novelli over the past five years. She has added to the culture of the place considerably and been a great contributor to our leadership team. We’ve been really proud of her as we watched her masterfully combine the job of a lifetime, motherhood, with her day job. We wish her all the best in the next stage of her career.”
Vodafone spokesperson Matt East said Newcombe was a "natural fit" for the team after covering the role part-time for the last three months.
Sarah brings to Vodafone 14 years' experience in the public relations industry, much of that working in the telco industry. Vodafone has been one of her key clients in the five years she has worked as a senior account director at Porter Novelli. She has also held roles in Clear Communications and BT in the UK.
Sarah Newcombe starts in her new role at Vodafone on April 11.
