Porter Novelli and its clients provide support to victims of Christchurch Earthquake
Porter Novelli and its clients have rallied together to provide support and funds to victims of the Christchurch Earthquake. Here are just some of the ways our clients have been helping in the aftermath of the earthquake:
Porter Novelli is part of The Clemenger Group - New Zealand's largest marketing and communications group. The Clemenger Group made a significant donation to Christchurch following the September quake, and has donated an additional $50,000 to the Red Cross appeal following February's tragedy.
In addition, the Clemenger Group offered pro bono assistance to the Government, (which they have taken up), which means Clemenger Group agencies are helping to produce relevant marketing and communications materials around this event.
Dettol has sent a truck to the Christchurch Civil Defence filled with hygiene and sterilising products for those people without access to clean, running water.
The Fonterra Earthquake Relief Fund will contribute more than $3 million to the Canterbury earthquake relief effort with Fonterra staff and farmer shareholders from around the world donating more than $1 million with donations still coming in. Fonterra has said it matched the first $1 million dollar-for-dollar, and is going to continue doing that.
Fonterra has shipped tank loads of water to the people of Christchurch and an additional 1 million litres of water has been sourced from Fonterra’s Clandeboye site and delivered to schools around Christchurch. As well as tanks of water, Fonterra is delivering UHT milk and bottled water to relief centres. They will continue delivering water for as long as Christchurch requires it.
Many Fonterra farmers around Christchurch that have not been affected by the earthquake, are helping out in every way they can, including with the clean up and by offering accommodation.
Microsoft NZ is offering its support to customers and small business owners who have been affected by the Christchurch earthquake by setting up an 0800 number to assist customers and partners. In addition, Microsoft Managed Partners and Enterprise Managed Customers are being encouraged to contact their Account Manager to discuss other way Microsoft NZ can help.
Affected Microsoft Managed Partners and Enterprise Managed Customers have also been given access to free Microsoft Online Services (Microsoft Cloud based Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Office Communications Online and Office Live Meeting).

Vodafone has raised significant funds ($1.25 million to date) for the Red Cross Earthquake Appeal, is providing financial relief packages for Christchurch customers and continues to provide vital network services to help the people of Christchurch keep in touch with friends and family around the world.
Overall the network is still functioning well with minimal congestion despite the increased network load. Immediately after the event, Vodafone deployed seven COWS (cell sites on wheels) to reinforce its network.
The Vodafone mobile store truck Optimus Prime is currently running by Hornby Mall, allowing people to recharge their phones, top up prepay, access to free Wi-Fi and use one of the ten free-call phones that are available.
Vodafone has been providing credit assistance to customers in Christchurch who need it, and has just announced generous relief packages for Christchurch customers to remove the financial worry of the continued use of their mobile. See Vodafone.co.nz for details.
